An open letter from student Phetdavone Phommakone

My name is Phetdavone Phommakone. I am a foreign student studying at Tran Quoc Tuan School. I already had a foundation in Vietnamese and had the opportunity to study Grade 11 Literature with Ms. Binh.
During my studies, I had always really liked Literature, but I was still weak at analysis and at how to approach assignments, and I also had many difficulties with reading comprehension: many words were still hard to understand, and my writing was not yet good or did not say exactly what I meant. But when I reached Grade 11, I studied with Ms. Binh, and she helped me a great deal with knowledge, methods and how to do assignments, and with improving my grammar, expanding my vocabulary and expressing my ideas in Vietnamese more confidently and accurately.
I really like her dedicated, easy-to-understand way of teaching, analysing and clarifying the parts I had not understood. Ms. Binh always gives detailed guidance and clear explanations, not only to me but to all the students in the class; she is always dedicated, inspiring and motivating for her students.
In my opinion, Ms. Binh is very well suited to, and has a gift for, teaching Vietnamese to foreigners. She truly understands the difficulties that international students often face when learning Vietnamese, and she always finds ways of guiding each student that suit their abilities. Her dedication and experience have helped me make great progress in using Vietnamese, as well as understand Vietnamese literature and culture better.
And if I have the chance to continue studying with Ms. Binh, I would like to learn more deeply about Vietnamese literature, academic writing skills, how to analyse literary works, and how to use Vietnamese more naturally and flexibly.
I sincerely thank Ms. Binh for her devotion, her enthusiasm and the precious knowledge she has passed on to me. I am very grateful for her contributions to my studies and to the development of my Vietnamese.
